Our experienced staff can help you choose the perfect frame from the most extensive framing collection in the Midlands: over 5,000 molding samples from 30 different vendors, including imports from Italy and Spain, beautifully and delicately hand-crafted and hand-finished for the highest quality. In addition, we offer over 300 preservation-grade, museum quality archival mats and multiple glass selections with UV protection glazes, to protect your precious art for years to come.
You’ll leave the store at ease knowing that your art is being properly taken care of, framed right there in store where you drop it off-- that means more quality control and a better final product for you. Designed with the help of our in-house "Dream Team," and handcrafted by artisans, each custom framing order by Havens Framemakers & Gallery is as unique as the work it holds.
OUR HISTORY
Where We've Been & Where We're Going
Robert Havens established Havens in 1968 as a retail piano dealer and in 1985 his daughter, Betsy Havens, created Betsy Havens Aesthetics, in the Vista. Later, the two joined together in a family business- five boutiques that offered custom framing located across Columbia.
In 1993, Betsy sold the smaller locations and moved into the building that Havens Framemakers resides today. Throughout this time, Havens carried furniture, home decor, jewelry and accessories in the store, still continuing to provide custom framing services. During this period, Havens offered the very successful and memorable, "Havens Frame-it-Yourself," that brought so many through its doors.
In 2003, after 18 years of running a well-established and successful business, Betsy decided to retire and the business was sold to the current owner, Jackie Vazquez. Since then, Havens has returned to its true roots, focusing on just custom framing and gallery representation of local and native artists.
Although Havens no longer carries the accessories, to the same extent, that were adored by many, we still hold true to the tradition established 47 years ago of providing quality custom-framing to the Columbia area. Come in and be a part of our history!
